Kampong Trach, 2001: My trusted fixer/translator/driver Sok Sin and I travelled deep into former Khmer Rouge territory near Kampot on my last trip to Cambodia. We found this woman at an old train station built during the French colonial days. It was was full of colorful local people, what many Cambodiaphiles would call "real Cambodians," waiting for the train to take their agricultural goods to Phnom Penh. Photo: © Doug Niven
