Tay Ninh, 1967: Injured South Vietnamese ARVN soldier captured at Duc Hue rests at Prison Camp #12, inside a Viet Cong liberated zone. Although the Viet Cong rarely took prisoners, photographer Lam Tan Tai said they were humanely treated, and were often persuaded to fight for the guerillas following their recovery. The city of Tay Ninh, famed as the headquarters of the Cao Dai religious sect, was also the jumping-off point for guerillas seeking sanctuary in neighboring Cambodia. Photo: © Lam Tan Tai |
